Lock problems are far less common than they used to be — most manufacturers back their locks with strong warranties for several years after purchase. Many also offer extended warranties on the lock itself.

A few important things to know:

• Extended warranties are only offered by select manufacturers, and they're purchased directly through the manufacturer — not through MWGUNSAFES — when you register your safe.
• Our team always reminds Baton Rouge customers to look into this when registering, but registration and the extended warranty are handled independently of our store.
• The cost is minimal compared to the price of a lock repair — if you ever need service, it can pay for itself several times over.

Quick Battery Reminder

If your safe has an electronic lock:

• Use a 9-volt Duracell battery for S&G and SecuRam locks.
• Make sure the battery has several years left before its expiration date — don't install one expiring this year.
• Using a non-recommended battery brand risks frying the lock.
